About the event
In this inaugural Sense Lab, we are curious to see what happens when we connect and transmit communication with each other through food and touch. The experience will be nothing short of relaxing and slowing down into skillful exploration. Everyone will learn and practice a Thai massage sequence that will nurture your community - everyone will receive and give twice. Then we will nourish our taste buds and bodies, and emerge with a full belly.
About Tiered Pricing:
We want as many folks to join us as possible, and have retooled our pricing to accommodate folks at different income levels.
Tier one is for folks who rarely get to retreat.
Tier Two is for folks who can afford to retreat a couple of times a year, and this would be an extra experience for them.
Tier Three is for folks who retreat often and want to share in supporting another's opportunity to experience a special happening.
Thankyou for aligning with what is best and true in your experience.

Why we are doing this:
We spend a lot of time learning to connect with ourselves through contemplative practices on mats and cushions, and in our bodies as individuals. When interfacing with the world, touch can become an elusive tool, often reserved only for intimate relationships. However, the power of mindful touch - touch being one of our most telling innate senses- can transform communication, and allow us to light up the wisdom of our other senses… including taste.
We will begin the power of tactility in our environment through our food. We will explore qualities of how we interface with it: touch, cut, fold, and preparation as we share the labor in creating a communal prasad, in preparation for conscious eating, as we learn from chef Jenna Barnes how to relate and experience tactility in that which sustains our very being: plants
Then we will gather for a pragmatic introduction to discovering and fostering touch as a communication and listening tool with Nica. We will learn the fundamentals of Thai massage to offer and receive communication beyond words. We will explore communication with qualities of touch as the impetus, followed by sight and sound. This process will emphasize a safe, consensual, and nonsexual environment so we can light up our other senses of sight, sound, and cultivate a sensitivity (no pun!) towards a more holistic experience of giving and receiving communication.
We will conclude with a meditative and reflective plant-based 3-course meal bursting with color, flavors, and textures that will bring it all together, as we slow down enough to integrate this experience and nourish our bodies.
This is a human-to-human experience. Couples welcome, and individuals are strongly
encouraged to come on their own or bring a friend.
Only 15 tickets available.
